Michael was very methodical. He loved living in the high rise downtown. His commute to and from work was a mere five minutes on foot. Every weekday precisely at eight, he arose, showered, and ate breakfast. By eight thirty he was got on the elevator at the seventeenth floor and rode it down to the lobby. Then at five in the afternoon, he returned home, but rode the elevator only up to the twelfth floor and climbed the remaining five on the stairs. Why did he do this?
